This is my short speech that I held at the award ceremony in Monthey / Valais:

"To receive such an award is really wonderful - thank you, dear jury, to have thought of me. And thanks to the Federal Office of Culture and therefore to Switzerland for affording the support and recognition of its artists. When being asked why I like to make theater, my usual answer is that it's impossible to make theatre all by yourself. Therefore I'm first and foremost grateful for the many inspiring and productive encounters and collaborations in my theater life: with Christa Wenger, who founded our blendwerk GmbH with me, with the many colleagues in all sorts of constellations here and elsewhere, with the theaters, with curators, and also with all the assistants, technicians and craftsmen in theaters and in independent projects. However, to survive economically as an artist requires more than good partners and a bit of luck – it needs very specific support that is not given equally to all of us here in Switzerland. The state needs to balance that out more seriously so that we finally will see our entire and diverse society being represented in theatre - Not everybody is being supported by their parents for health insurance and child care for years like I was in order to be able to make your art in peace. Many thanks to my parents for their generosity and presence. And thank you to my dearest Lara Körte - Thank you for your stimulating confidence and your incorruptible aspiration - You are not only a wonderful actress and language interpreter but above all a strong and great partner in many joint projects in the theater and in life. And last but not least a special thank you to our son Jim: Thank you for your great patience, when I have to be away again and again because of my job. And thank you for always reminding me of what's really important in life besides the whole theatre. Thank you everybody.”

Danke Euch allen. “
